Ideal Home Show London 2015

Me and Mum outside the Ideal Home Show 2015

We have been to the Ideal Home Show with a Butterfly Hair stand but this year with the move from Earls Court to Olympia we decided not to take a stand this year and went as visitors instead. I have to say this was a brilliant decision, I have never been to this show as a visitor and saw lots of really interesting stands and unusual ideas.

During the day we saw lots of people we know form other shows and it was lovely to catch up with them. The girls from Splash of Ice had lovely hand made silver jewelry and I narrowly managed to leave them without a purchase (although I can't promise I wont be on their website buying soon!).

Ben and his fudge on the stand
There was lots of lovely food to try as we wandered around the food section. Some of my favourite tasters included Matt and Ben's Fudge, it was lovely to have a chat with Ben and his girlfriend on the day who both were passionate about what they do. I also always love Munchy Seeds which we brought another 3 pots of and some unusual chocolate with great flavors which became my substitute to Easter Eggs this year.

I also brought healthy squash concentrate from Stur which came in cute little containers.

We spent time walking around the show homes and a lovely lodge showing off the holidays of Dream Lodges. We were also lucky enough to be able to use the VIP area at the show, it was lovely to come in to a quiet room with comfy chairs, there were pastries when we arrived and afternoon tea and cakes in the afternoon.

African Fire Pit Ball
One of my favourite things of the day was the most awesome fire pit I have ever seen! They were designed by the man on the stand - Andy who obviously loved his art and was really enthusiastic about each of his creations which are made by hand. The photos don't quite do this beautiful product justice but I had to share it with you! My favourite of the design was the African Ball which has an amazing array of animals and I love the details of the monkeys in the trees and the birds. He also does bespoke designs and on his website (click here) there are some beautiful pictures from happy customers.

We had a brilliant day at the Ideal Home Show 2015 and I would recommend you to go at least once to see the show. Just make sure you leave enough time to walk round, we were there all day!

Did you visit the Ideal Home Show or do you recommend visiting any other shows? Leave me a comment in the comments section, I'd love to hear from you!

This is me!

Thank you for taking a minute to read my new blog, I have tried blogging a few times before but haven't managed to do it regularly as there are so many things I want to share and I couldn't catagorise them all!

My name is Nicky Tribble I'm 26 and I still live at home with my parents (embarrassing I know!) I have a degree (2:1) in Marketing and Retail which I received at the University of Northampton in 2011.

I have had several jobs both before and after Uni however my parents would tell you I'm unemployable! This is a result of being brought up by my wonderful parents who have both been self employed my whole life. Needless to say this has had a massive impact on me and my views of the world and I helped my Mum and Dad when they started a business back in 2006 in importing and selling African Butterfly hair clips.

After finishing uni I was sick of everyone asking how I find working for my parents and I decided I wanted a "proper job" - yes I got myself a 9-5 job in London with a private bank as a Marketing Assistant. I loved working in London and the social side of the amazing capital but I just couldn't keep working under an organisation who were so set in their ways and so unwilling to explore new marketing techniques. I quickly realised I had to leave and wanted to start my own business.

In the mean time we had started another family business making and selling (the very best) popcorn and our reputation among our followers soared!

I started my own business in 2013 when I brought a photo booth and created Photo Buzz, where I specialise in great customer service and fully personalised products. I love running my photo booth and popularity has soared since I started.

As Photo Buzz builds we are now relaunching the popcorn with new branding but the same great taste. We have added some new flavours and I can't wait to tell you more on how the popcorn is moving forward!

I would love to hear your comments and thoughts so please drop me a line in the comments section.

Until next time,

Nicky X
